Abacus EW offers an EW Consultancy service that goes beyond the boundaries of just training. With the experience of being at the forefront of Electronic Warfare (EW) for over 28 years, we specialise in both Communications ESM (CESM) & Radar ESM (RESM) with ongoing Specialist EW consultation - both EW Technical and EW Operational. Abacus EW delivers targeted, bespoke training to a multitude of National and International Clients. Operational Expertise All our EW offerings are approached from an operational aspect as all of our EW Consultants have recent EW operational experience (across the Naval, Ground & Air environments), in many global theatres of operations such as Iraq, Afghanistan and the Balkans to name just a few. This gives Abacus EW a unique cutting edge and has enabled us to form unique strategic partnerships with Thales UK and more recently, a close working relationship with DRS in Canada and with BAE Systems in the UK. Meet the Team - UK Based Allison Burrows is the Finance Director and co-owner of Abacus EW. Allison has vast experience within Management & Training - including high profile roles within various academic organisations within the UK. Paul Burrows is the Director and co-owner of Abacus EW. Paul served a full 22 Year Military career (Army) within the Royal Signals and Intelligence Corps. After leaving the Army in 2004 as a WO1, Paul established Abacus EW and now takes the company to a global audience. Amy Robertson is the PA to the Managing Directors - has joined Abacus EW from BMW. Amy has vast marketing experience and is the first point of contact into Abacus EW. Dougie Holmes is the Abacus EW MSc Coordinator & Head of Quality and has just retired from the Royal Navy after 33 years of glorious service reaching the rank of WO1. Nile Blanchard is the Abacus EW RESM Specialist Trainer and Consultant and has joined us from Flagship. Having completed a very successful career in the Royal Navy, Nile brings his experience and enthusiasm to Abacus EW and we welcome him aboard and wish him all the best for the future. Carol Baggley is our Accounts Administrator. Meet the Team - Overseas Based Overseas, we have Steve (Moff) Moffet (Ex Army WO2) who heads a team that includes Keith Wallace (Ex WO (EW) Royal Navy) and Bill Tidy (Ex CPO (EW) Royal Navy)- Steve and his team have served for over a 100 years between them. Steve and his team are on a long term EW assignment with Thales UK within the UAE. Andy (Bear) Kelly is our Specialist ECM / EW Consultant, and brings with him over 28 years experience within EW. Bear reached the rank of Captain before deciding to leave the Army (Royal Signals) and is currently in the UAE on a 2 year support assignment with Thales. Our EW Consultants have all served with the only UK Armed Forces EW Regiment and have extensive CESM & RESM experience. All have served operationally within all spheres of operations. All our Consultants hold current high levels of Security Clearance (SC or DV). |

Abacus EW offers a service second to none and utilises many trusted 3rd parties within the EW sphere of operations. Abacus EW deliver specialist EW CESM & RESM training to many clients utilising state of the art EW Simulators such as the VIEWS (Virtual Integrated EW Simulator) & Threatbuilder from DRS in Canada. We have extended our RESM capability by the recent provision of the EWSS from EWA Government Systems Inc (USA) and also the inclusion of the TALON Technical Signal Analysis Tool. from Ultra-Telemus of Canada. Our Comms ESM Training now utilises the state of the art Wideband, Intercept, Recording and Analysis MIRA system from MEDAV (Germany). We have also taken delivery of the OC6040 Technical Signal Analysis suite of software which is leading edge in its field. Our EW Training centre includes a UAV Simulator offering from Simlat Ltd - which offers the latest in all UAV training that is utilised across our other course offerings.
